(۲۰۱۳–۲۰۲۸) Global Air Navigation Plan

The new GANP has its roots in an appendix to a 1993 report
on what was then termed the Future Air Navigation System
(FANS). These recommendations were first presented as the
FANS Concept and later became referred to more generally
as CNS/ATM.
The FANS initiative had answered a request from ICAO’s
Member States for planning recommendations on how to
address air transport’s steady global growth through the
coordination of emerging technologies. As research and
development into these technologies accelerated rapidly during
the 1990s, the Plan and its concepts advanced with them.
A stand-alone version was published as the ICAO Global
Air Navigation Plan for CNS/ATM Systems (Doc 9750) in
1998, the second edition of which was released in 2001.
During this period, the Plan served to support State and
regional planning and procurement needs surrounding
CNS/ATM systems.
